Preparations for this year’s JRT Carols by the Beach are in full swing for the annual Christmas event, on Sunday 13th December at the iconic Yeppoon beachfront amphitheatre.
This year’s Christmas Carols Showcase will feature Rhonda Janes & Friends along with performances from Janelle’s Academy of Dance, Devine Drama & Dance, Belcanto Music and Singing Academy, Aussie Cheer & Dance, Garyth Walpole, and Katherine’s Academy of Dance & Theatre Arts. Of course, no Carols By The Beach would be complete without special guest Santa Claus.
Cap Coast Community Events organising team have worked closely with Queensland Health and QPS to create a COVID safe event for the whole family to enjoy. The area will be fully fenced and numbers may need to be limited to meet the 1.5m social distancing requirements between each family group.
CCCE Event Co-ordinator Bill Ludwig said to ensure a COVID Safe event all attendees, performers, 3rd party contractors & volunteers are being encouraged to pre-register now through the E.V.A app which can be downloaded from Google Play or App store.
“Just download the E.V.A. app and create a profile for each family member attending, including children and any dependants. On arrival attendees then simply scan the Carols QR code at the gate and check in. Manual COVID safe tracing forms will also be available for anyone requiring them,” Mr Ludwig said.
“Arriving early is recommended. Gates Open from 4pm with main entrance situated near the Strand Hotel to allow attendees to arrive from both directions. Amusement rides and food stalls will be operating before the main stage show commences at 5.30pm. Anzac Parade will also be closed for pedestrian safety between James & Queen Streets from 1PM.
“The main amphitheatre tiers will be reserved for family groups with pillows and blanket seating only due to social distancing and space restrictions. Marked areas will be allocated for BYO chairs.
** BYO chairs only in the purple shaded areas in the site map below
** The carpark opposite The Strand will be closed from 10pm Saturday, reopening late Sunday evening
** Anzac Parade will also be closed for pedestrian safety between James & Queen Streets from 1pm.
There will be 3 large LED screens situated around the grounds so you won’t miss any of the action.
“The Cap Coast Community Events team would like to thank Queensland Health and QPS for their assistance and would also like to acknowledge the fantastic support of both our funding and media partners The JRT Group, Livingstone Shire Council, Keppel Bay Sailing Club, The Real Group, Echelon Retail Traders, CQ Today, Channel 9 & Triple M,” Mr Ludwig said.
